Each class has an interactive maths board with a range of visual resources to suit the learning of their class.
Classes in the Foundation Phase update their outdoor areas in line with their topics and skills coverage. Maths activities regularly take place outdoors.
We have children taking part in number activities, making towers to match a given number. They are comparing their number (and tower) to that of their partner.
We also have children finding objects to measure, using standard units.
Each class throughout the school has a timetabled slot for use of our Forest Schools area. Maths skills can be taught or further developed here.
Here you can see Foundation Phase children searching for shapes in their environment. They are drawing and labelling the shapes they have found.
