Year 1DT Learning Log
These are some things you could do any time at home to help you learn....
Read your school book and anything else which interests you regularly!
Practise writing... You could write shopping lists, invitations, letters or even a diary so you can remember all the fun things you do on the weekends!
Practise spelling any words you find tricky and also red words...
Practice writing your numbers, counting, adding and subtracting. You will find Learn its' which are important addition facts that pupils should learn quickly at the bottom of the page. We will be checking these each week in our Beat That Test on a Friday morning. Please help your child learn them so they can quickly recall the answer.
Friday 12th January
Happy New Year and welcome back to school – we hope you all had a wonderful break and that everyone is feeling better !
This week we have been sharing our Christmas news. We all wrote a piece of work describing our lovely presents and what we did with our families. We all tried hard to use different words to start sentences like First, Next , Then, After that, Finally.
In maths we have been telling the time for o'clock and half past the hour. We learnt about the long and short hands and drew them on clocks . Perhaps you can practise some at home . Make sure the long hand is really long!
Next week we will begin planning our new topic My Welsh Life. We will be learning about our local area and how we live.
Future date: On Tuesday 23rd January we will be leaving school at 1.15 to walk to and around Magor village (weather permitting.) Pupils can wear their normal uniform. If anybody has a current DBS check and would like to accompany us please do let us know.
