Year 1DT Learning Log

These are some things you could do any time at home to help you learn....

Read your school book and anything else which interests you regularly!

Practise writing... You could write shopping lists, invitations, letters or even a diary so you can remember all the fun things you do on the weekends!

Practise spelling any words you find tricky and also red words...

Practice writing your numbers, counting, adding and subtracting. You will find Learn its' which are important addition facts that pupils should learn quickly at the bottom of the page. We will be checking these each week in our Beat That Test on a Friday morning. Please help your child learn them so they can quickly recall the answer.

Friday 11th May

Thank you to all who came to our Class Assembly this week. We had a fun time practising and performing and everyone said we were "FAB".

In Maths this week we  have been solving problems to find the difference. We chose our own ways of working out the answers like counting back in our heads, using number lines , numicon and cubes. We have been learning some of the properties of 3D shapes and  in Forest School we  hunted for objects that looked like cubes, cylinders, cones, cube and spheres. Can you find any at home?

Next week we will be getting ready for our "wedding " on Friday. We are going to be thinking about ways people celebrate and making our own food to eat at the reception when we get back to school after visiting the church. We can't wait o get all dressed up!

We have been learning about how to say what we are doing in Welsh; 'Beth wyt ti'n wneud?'

Many thanks.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Thomas, Mrs Searle and Mrs Purnell
