Year 1DT Learning Log
These are some things you could do any time at home to help you learn....
Read your school book and anything else which interests you regularly!
Practise writing... You could write shopping lists, invitations, letters or even a diary so you can remember all the fun things you do on the weekends!
Practise spelling any words you find tricky and also red words...
Practice writing your numbers, counting, adding and subtracting. You will find Learn its' which are important addition facts that pupils should learn quickly at the bottom of the page. We will be checking these each week in our Beat That Test on a Friday morning. Please help your child learn them so they can quickly recall the answer.
Friday 9th February
This week we have been getting ready for our Eisteddfod. We looked at the work of the Welsh artist Kyffin Williams and used pastels to create our own pictures of Wales in his style. It was messy but fun and we are very proud of the pictures we have made. We became poets and used descriptive words to write poems about different Welsh landscapes and used our best handwriting to write a sentence in Welsh. We will also be learning some traditional Welsh songs to sing in our St David's celebration .
In Maths we have been practising adding two numbers by counting on from the largest number . We have also been learning how to create a bar chart using tally charts we made last week .
Next week we will be making pancakes. Could you please let us know if your child is allergic to any of the ingredients (eggs, milk, flour).
A reminder that Thursday is the last day of this half term and as such is non uniform.
