Week 8

25th October 2019

What a lovely way to end our first half term in Nursery with a Stay and Play Session as well as a party!  Thank you to those of you who were able to make Stay and Play.  We hope you enjoyed taking part in all of our autumnal activities.

This week in their group activities, the children have been learning about:

  • Choosing books in Book Club to take home and share with a grown-up.
  • Diwali and making rangoli patterns.
  • Listening and responding to weekend news.

Other activities the children have been involved in are:

  • Taking part in yoga in our PE session.  First the children danced like Ruby Broom and danced like skeletons.  Then they had another try at Cosy Cats and Peace Out Guided Relaxation.
  • Carving pumpkins
  • Making a wind sock
  • Making diva lamps for Diwali
  • Chalking rangoli patterns
  • Making pumpkin and chocolate chip cookies

Just a reminder:

P.E. Mondays!

We will be going over to the school hall or using the infant yard on a Monday to do some P.E.  Please could you send your child to school dressed in appropriate clothing and footwear.  This could be their usual t-shirt/school jumper with jogging bottoms/leggings and trainers.

Forest School Friday!

With the exception of next Friday25th October, we will be doing Forest School every Friday from next week.  Please send your child to Nursery wearing warm/weather proof clothing including wellies or if you’d prefer dress them as they come in to nursery.  It would be a great help if you could take them for a toilet stop before they have all their wet weather gear on!  Send spare shoes/clothing in case they are needed on our return to Nursery.

Thank you for your support with snack/baking payments made on Parentpay.  After half term we will be making chocolate breadstick sparklers to celebrate Bonfire Night!

Just a reminder to send in a family picture for our display board if you haven’t had chance to do so already.  They are coming in slowly!

Please not the amendment to the Nursery/Reception Christmas performance for morning Nursery.  It will now start at 10am and not 10.30 as previously stated.

The children had a fabulous time at our autumn party.  They looked great in all of their fancy dress.  Thank you for all of your kind donations of party food, as well as all of the pumpkins for our Stay and Play session.

We really appreciate all of your support over the last half term.  Have a restful break and we look forward to seeing you on Monday 4th November.  Don’t forget Monday is PE day!

Thank you for your continued support
