Week 12

28th November 2019

This week we have been taking part in Road Safety Week.  The children have been involved in: watching a presentation from Super Cat teaching the children how to stop, look both ways, listen and think before crossing the road.  We talked about the importance of always holding our grown-ups hand to cross the road.  The children role-played the road safty rules by being Super Cat's Super Kittens and putting the road safety rules into practice on our crossing on the yard.

We have continued to join Reception in the hall to practice our Nativity.  The children are doing a fabulous job of remembering all of the actions to go with the songs.  Da iawn plant!  Don’t forget, you are invited to join morning Nursery and Mrs Skellorn’s class at 10am, or afternoon Nursery and Miss Skinner’s class at 2pm on Tuesday 10th November.  You can find the songs to Born in a Barn on Youtube,  if you wish to practice at home!  If you have any questions, please speak to a member of staff.  Could all costumes be sent in to Nursery by Monday 2nd December ready for dress rehearsal on Thursday 5th December.

Other activities the children have been involved in are:

  • Measuring/mixing flour, salt and water to make our own playdough christmas decoration.
  • Using oil pastels to draw pictures.
  • Exploring and experimenting with the woodwork area.

For those of you who were able to join us, we hope you enjoyed the magical winter wonderland at Chepstow Garden Centre on Thursday.  It was so lovely to see the looks of awe and wonder on the little ones' and the grown-ups' faces. A big thank you to Chepstow Garden Centre for their kind donation of a Christmas tree for our Nursery.

The annual Christmas Fete run by FOUPS (Friends of Undy Primary School), will be after school, on Friday 13th December.  Each class collect donated items to make a class hamper to be sold at the fete to raise valuable funds for your children.  Any donations would be very gratefully received.  Thank you in anticipation.

Please send in all library books next week.  Due to the Christmas festivities, we will not be having Book Club until next term.

Just a reminder that Mums' and Dads' presents have been postponed until next Friday 6th December.  If you wish your child to purchase presents, please send in £2.50 per present.  Please label the envelope clearly, with child's name and who the presents are for on.

Thanks for your continued support
